How to measurement an area or a route in Dronebox?

Hello everyone, today I will introduce another interesting function in Dronebox, that is the drawing and measuring tool (Digitizing).

First we need to select the Project and Task that we want to draw. or measure the area first

Then you will notice in the upper right corner of the map. A drawing tool will be displayed.

It will be divided into 2 parts.

The first part will be different types of drawing tools.

will be measurement tools. or drawing a path (Line)

will be measurement tools. or drawing a closed area (Polygon)

will be measurement tools. Or drawing a rectangular closed area (Rectangle Polygon)

is a point drawing tool.

Let’s look at an example of each type. What will it look like when drawn?

1) Path Drawing Tool (Line) Once selected Select the starting point where you want to measure the route. by clicking on the map Then select the next point. can create multiple points in a line connected to each other If you want to select the end point, double click to stop the tool.

2) Polygon tool, once selected Select the starting point that you want to measure the size of the area. by clicking on the map Then select the next point. can create multiple points in a line connected to each other If you want to press to select the end point Make a selection at the same point as the starting point. to stop the tool

3) Rectangle Polygon tool when selected. Drag the starting point where you want to measure the area. by dragging to expand the area as needed and click again to stop the tool.

4) Point type tool, once selected Select a location on the map. In case of pinning a point by clicking 1 time, this ends the function of the tool.

when creating a route When the page is reloaded, the drawn layer will disappear. To permanently save the drawing to the project, follow these steps.

When on the task page will display the number of drawings that have been drawn. You can click to save all of them here.

Or go to Digitizing, then can choose to save individually Layer or save all.

Once done, each layer can edit its name, color, and delete the layer.

by selecting the pencil icon to edit the selected layer

This is the end of the drawing. I have measured the area. It’s not difficult at all. Next time, let’s meet with the volume measurement.
